I was approached by someone to raise funds for the funeral of an extremely poor Muslim sister’s husband.

At that stage, I realised that there is no formal organisation with instant funds. Some are dependent on fundraising at the critical time when Janaza is waiting and others can offer qarzae hasna.

The minimum cost of funeral is £2700 in North and £4600 in South, alternatively one has to donate the body for teaching/research. We would be extremely worried if we were in that difficult situation and therefore as Muslim Umma, we don’t want genuinely poor family to worry about the cost at such a difficult time.

This led to a new project called: Standbydonate4funeral

MashaAllah we have 3 WhatsApp groups with 600 members but we only ask for £3 to fund the burial to avoid any burden. There is a dedicated account for this purpose

We request you to join us and pay when required or pay £50-£100 as one off for future expenses.

You can help with as little as possible as pennies make pounds but please don’t allow any dying person’s family to worry about the cost if they are unable to afford.

The purpose of life is to make a difference in the life of others.
