Zinthiya Trust – A decade of preventing abuse, poverty and enabling women and girls live safe!
Zinthiya Trust is 10!
The Zinthiya Trust was set up by Zinthiya Ganeshpanchan in 2009 to support women and girls fleeing violence, people who are homeless or living in substandard accommodation, people facing food and fuel poverty, ex-offenders and people in long term unemployment. Their work aims to prevent abuse and poverty, enabling people to live safe and fulfilling lives. The charity also provides employment and work placements through its Chapel café based on Bishop Street, Leicester.
The services include providing
• one to one support to women and girls fleeing violence
• providing money and energy advice
• welfare and benefits advice to those facing hardship and
• practical help such as emergency food, school uniform and sanitary products.

On an average year the charity support over 1750 unique beneficiaries in Leicester and over the recent Covid-19 crisis the charity has seen an increase in the demand for its services and are now working extended hours to support the community.
Ms Ganeshpanchan passion lies in empowering women and therefore, while over the years the Trust has continued to deliver some much needed support services to help people be free from poverty in particular during the current crisis, the work that is close to my heart are domestic violence, school uniforms and sanitary products projects as I believe in human dignity.
Despite the work Zinthiya Trust does locally, currently Ms Ganeshpanchan is also working on setting up a global project to end period poverty among the most disadvantaged communities not only by supplying period products to these communities but also by education and raising awareness about menstrual health.
Zinthiya Trust has changed countless lives in the last decade and we will continue to assist those who need it most.
